Settings Database Editor (SetEdit) is a highly useful tool if utilized correctly. However, it is crucial to exercise caution as there is a high likelihood of causing unintended complications.

By default, Android safeguards the SECURE and GLOBAL tables from modifications for your protection. If you have Android Jellybean or a newer version, the protection can be removed through an ADB shell using the command "pm grant by4a.setedit22 android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS". On earlier versions, the protection can only be removed on a rooted device by installing SetEdit to the system partition.

In some instances, certain versions of Android may prompt you to "check for an update". If Google Play does not offer an updated version, please disregard the notification. Rest assured that you have the most suitable version of SetEdit for your device.
